I am mother, a (former) nurse, and a woman who loves to spend time in community
with those who are interested in honoring the sacredness of pregnancy, birth, mothering.
In my 3rd pregnancy I decided to cancel all my OB appointments and birth completely outside of the medical system.
It was a transformative experience that reshaped the way I understand care, community, and power.
That birth changed me. From there I felt called to create spaces where others could to remember their own strength and share their stories.
My belief is that birth is not just physical; it’s spiritual, ancestral, and communal.
My mission, in one word is: Connection.
Connection to each-other and within.
My mom calls me mamas, and I call my boys papas.
In our family, this is a term of endearment.
It means, I see you. I hear you. I love you. And I’m here.
"Mama's Collective" was born after the birth of my third son. It was my first time birthing at home and completely outside of the medical system. In all my pregnancies, but especially this one when I was excavating the power within myself to hold the responsibility of free birth and a wild pregnancy, I found myself with almost no community that was willing or able to show up in the way that fostered true empowerment and support. There was a lack of community and lack of wisdom sharing taking place. And so, I started to gather the women. Women of all birthing choices and in all seasons of motherhood. We came together with the intention to hold space for all the stories. All the fears. All the thoughts, dreams, wishes, and needs. I began to sit with women in their post-partum as we nursing together, cried together, and processed our births and rebirths. And so, out of this lack and then through initiation and collaboration with other women in my community…
Mamas Holistic Collective came into existence.
The intention of Mamas is to continue a legacy of mamas supporting mamas. We want all mamas to feel seen, heard, held, nourished, and to never feel alone.

I was interviewed by my mentor from the Free Birth Society
and MMI in April of 2026, 1 year after my most recent birth.
I go into my background as a Registered Nurse, how I "found free birth", my journey in self-discovery and transformation. I shared about my first two hospital births and then about my wild pregnancy and free birth. I hope you enjoy this episode!
" In this powerful episode, I’m joined by Matri Birth Mentor Institute student, Darrah, who shares her transformational journey—from working within the medical system as a nurse to reclaiming her autonomy as a freebirthing, wild, and instinct-led mother. After birthing her first two sons in hospitals, Darrah awakened to a deeper truth and radically shifted her path. Her story is one of courage, clarity, and coming home to herself—and it’s sure to inspire birth workers and mothers alike. "
